GRAND OLE ISLAND SHOWDOWN II

KIX Country 104.7, 680 WDBC and the Island Resort and Casino want to find the best singer in the U.P and Northeastern Wisconsin as we present The Grand 'Ol Island Talent Showdown 2 !!!

It's THEE country karoke contest of the summer ... with big cash prizes, including $1,000 for the winner, $750 for 2nd place, and $500 for third. PLUS, there's cash up for grabs in the preliminaries, with $50 going to the top vote getter each week.

Remember ... the Grand 'Ol Island Talent Showdown does allow duets ... so if you want to sing with somebody, you can. Duets will be judged in the same category as solo performers.

6 weeks of preliminaries will be held on consecutive Monday night's, beginning June 2nd, inside Club Four One at the Island Resort and Casino. The finals will be held on Friday, July 18th in the Island Showroom.

Rules and Regulations:
Register by calling WDBC/WYKX at 906-786-6144 or 1-800-676-9801 beginning May 7, 2008. Registration deadline the evening of the event is 6:45pm EST.

Contestants must provide a professional karaoke CD the night of performance.

All songs must be country. Performance begins at 7pm EST.

Solo and duet registrants will be judged within the same category.

Contestants can only perform one time, either as a single or duet.

Contestants will perform one song during the pre-lims. At the Final, each contestant will sing one song. Judges will select the top five contestants. The top five will perform one song and the judges will select the top three winners.

KMB Broadcasting, Inc will have a selected panel of three judges. Official judging forms to be provided by KMB Broadcasting, Inc using specific categories and scoring systems. The following are not permitted to judge:
a. Sponsoring radio stations, WDBC and WYKX, and IRC personnel and relatives.
b. Relatives of contestants.

In the event of a tie, the first tie-breaker shall be the highest number of points given in the "Talent" category. The second tie-breaker shall be the highest number of points awarded in the "Stage Presence/Charisma" category. The third tie-breaker shall be a secret ballot by the judges.

Songwriting category is defined as material being written by the individual or member of the contestant group performing the song. A total of up to three bonus points for "Song Writing" will be awarded depending on the quality of the material.

Each contestant will be offered (but need not use) the same amount of performance time.

Performers must be at least 18 years of age to enter the Grand Ole Island Talent Showdown contest. Since the contest is being held at a location where alcoholic beverages are served, any spectators under 18 years of age must have a legal guardian present.

Employees of the IRC, WDBC, WYKX and participating sponsors can not compete.

Pre-lim prizes will vary from week to week.
